San Diego Midnight Madness Fun Bike Ride

This is a super fabulous event that is held in San Diego every summer.   Midnight Madness is a fun night of cycling, contests, prizes, and entertainment to support community youth programs. The 38th annual event will be held on Saturday August 20th, 2011. The cycling route is a 18-mile, primarily flat loop course along some of San Diego’s most beautiful waterfront and historic areas.

The ride starts at Midnight at the South side of the San Diego County Administration building at
1600 Pacific Highway, San Diego CA 92101.

Cost

* $30 from March 1 until May 1
* $32 from May 2 until August 19
* $37 night of event.
* $15 Children 12 and under

** The event will be held regardless of weather conditions. Sorry, no refunds.

The days are getting warmer and longer!  Summer is almost here.  Now is a perfect time to get out and ride your bike.  Check out these super fun places ride in Orange County:

1.  Irvine Regional Park in Orange. Located at the far east end of Jamboree in the foothills of Orange. Our cross streets are Chapman Avenue and Jamboree Road.

Irvine Regional Park has a rich history, and contains some of the oldest Coast Live Oaks in Orange County.  Take a Self-guided bicycle tour around Irvine Regional Park with points of interest including the Nature Center, the Santiago Creek, statue of James Irvine II, the Orange County Zoo, Civil War Cannon, Irvine Park Lake, Monument Plaque, Centennial Arch and more.

2.  The Fullerton Loop: Located in Fullerton, CA

The Fullerton loop starts at Harbor Blvd. and Berkeley Ave.  This is a great 11-12 mile trail trail that will take you through both the neighborhoods and the rolling hills of Fullerton.

3.  Back Bay Loop : Located in Newport Beach

The Back Bay loop is 11-12 miles long and starts at the Back Bay Science Center.  There are several entry points along the way.     The hills make it a great work out, but for the most part it is flat and very enjoyable.

The Back Bay Loop, including entry points, can be found on the City of Newport Beach’s website.

4.  Huntington Beach:  Home of Cruiser Candy!!

The Huntington Beach bike path runs along Pacific Coast Highway.  It is along the beach, and runs past the pier for around 8 miles of beautiful bike riding.  Not only is it relaxing but you can stop and grab a bite to eat on Main Street along the way.
